Heartstrong Therapy and Practice represents a holistic approach that aims to equip you with all the foundations for true and lasting wellbeing, so you may live with a greater sense of balance and peace. I see therapy as an active process of exploration, insight, practice and integration. Together, within a trusting relationship, we will explore your experience and gradually make sense of it, using our gained awareness to work out what might be helpful and how this might be implemented.
I believe therapy needs to be adaptive because there is no such thing as a ‘one size fits all’ approach. What is helpful for one person may not be helpful for the next, and we all need different approaches at different times in our lives. Some people come to therapy wanting a safe space to talk, others want to learn new tools and techniques, others are looking for a deep sense of healing. I offer a flexible approach and draw on a broad range of therapeutic modalities and practices, so I can make your therapy individual to you and we will always collaborate and focus on what feels realistic, approachable and accessible for you.
Compassion is at the heart of my approach because I truly believe in its power, having witnessed the benefits it has had on my own, and others, lives. Compassion may be more than you realise. Often compassion is seen as a soft, kind and loving care, but this is only half the story. True compassion draws on many more qualities within us. We need courage, strength and commitment to face our difficulties so we can take helpful action and develop new ways of being, and this requires patience, curiosity and practice.
Compassion is a balance of both being tender and nurturing, and being determined and active – this is why I chose the name ‘Heartstrong’ for my practice. If you are reading this now it means you are already taking the first steps forward in developing these qualities for yourself – you are aware of your struggles, and are searching for ways to try and help yourself. My role is to help you on that path.
Please contact me to organise a free introductory phone call where we can discuss what you would like to gain from therapy, and whether I feel like a good fit for you.
“For me therapy was a necessary journey to take. It was sometimes difficult, painful and intense, but also beautiful, funny and revelatory. Rose made me feel safe to talk about anything and the outcome has been significant. My relationship with myself has changed in ways I did not know was possible – I understand myself better and have more power and control over who I am.”
